Teilchen (2020 – ongoing)

Materials: a table, some memories, some photos, a set of 60 image cards, instructional cards, two boxes of sand, three curtains, lights

Teilchen is a one to one situation, in which every time a successful experiment is being performed. Seated on a square table the visitor and the artist negotiate in silence with the help of sentences written on cards and head nods. The visitor agrees to participate in an experiment dealing with memory particles. The expected result is memories that are important for the artist to start living an independent life in the visitor’s mind. To guarantee the success of the experiment, the artist and the visitor need to plant their bare feet in a personal box of sand, each placed under the table.

Teilchen was first performed at Nearly Close Enough to Kiss 2020, TNT Marburg
